Volunteer opportunities

Executive Positions

President

Chairs meetings, oversees all committee members and volunteers, be the liaison between garden, United Church and Town of Morinville

Vice President

Works with the president by helping to oversee committees and managers, fills in as chair of meetings when president is absent, attends business meetings with president when possible

Secretary

Takes minutes at meetings, does photocopying, creates and maintains spreadsheet of gardener info, update garden bulletin boards, and attends monthly meetings

Treasurer

Collects plot fees, manages garden account, writes cheques and receipts, helps apply for grants attends monthly meetings during peak season

Registrar

Organizes registration, assigns plots, collects applications, manages waiting lists, and attends monthly meetings

Member at Large - Undefined

Assist the members of executive as needed and be present at meetings to help meet quorum for voting.

Manager Positions 

Garden Managers

Ensures gardeners are following guidelines and policy enforcement if necessary, help maintain common areas, mow pathways, remove trash, monitor compost, assist new gardeners, and attend monthly meetings

Community/Food Bank Garden Manager

Organizing the Community Garden areas by acquiring seeds, planning workbees, harvesting garden regularly and deliver harvest to the food bank and delivering harvest to food bank on Tuesdays

Casual Positions

Garden Care and Maintenance

Taking care of the gardens requires the commitment of our garden members and occasionally we ask for assistance form the community. We often host work bees / workshops and encourage the community in joining us . It's a great way to meet your neighbours, contribute to the gardens and perhaps learn a new skill.
